February: Racism and the 21st Century

Racism has been on the rise in the U.S. over the past decade. Between a shift in viewpoints, to the casual racism we see on social media, our society is more divided than ever. While racism may look different in some ways in the 21st century, we need to call it out as we see it. As we continue to navigate the difficult political field, it's more important than ever that we are coming togehter as humans to combat the racism we are seeing from others in society and the administration in power.

DEI Rollbacks Rollback

The Department of Education has announced that they are backing down from the unlawful directives that targeted education equality. This guidance found in the "Dear Collegue" letter is no longer in effect or able to be upheld nationwide.

ICE in MI

Michigan is currently being targeted by ICE. There are active plans to build and ICE detention center in Romulus. So far there is a confirmed purchase for a warehouse on Cogswell St. with the intent to convert it into a large detention center.
